Levels by Sidewinder |

Sidewinder has been a very prolific level author at his time, cranking out numerous high quality levels for his Descent clan,
the Sharks. As there are so many good levels built by him, he has deserved his own section here.

^Bricks 2^^Bricks 2^ is well done medium sized multiplayer level. The custom texturing is nicely combined with standard D2 textures. It offers open halls for dogfights as well as narrow passages and tight turns for hit and run (or just run :P) tactics.
DungeonDungeon is a set of three levels featuring the bowels of a castle. Sidewinder hit the theme pretty well by using textures showing wood and big stone blocks, throwing in some torches, heraldic signs and portcullis'. The levels are a bit of a maze (which again fits the theme) and rather large, so you may want to play it with a few more players.
FrigateWith Frigate, Sidewinder presents an awesome level built into the shape of an ancient sailing ship. Almost pure custom texturing and a great level structure and connectivity despite being tied into such a restrictive theme make this level a sight to behold, and I bet a blast to play, too.
Le Mans 2Sidewinder's Le Mans 2 perfectly executes the theme of a race track. It is very simple and very consequently textured, and you will have the tarmac tracks, turn signs and everything else a true race course needs. I believe the level structure lends itself very well to fast and furious (heh) multiplayer matches. Enjoy!
Btw, a few of the crispy custom textures displayed on the screenies here stem from Novacron's high-res Descent texture project. ^Perception^Sidewinder's ^Perception^ is another level in the Bricks style. Instead of mainly gray, it is kept in brownish tones of color. Impenetrable transparent walls are put to great effect both visually and gameplay wise here, protecting sensitive areas from direct fire but still allowing the view on them. This level has a great layout with tremendous connectivity and a wonderful blend of perfectly sized halls and tunnels for some ratting please. Absolutely recommendable, though it may need a few more players.
PicassoThough no author was named in the mission file, Picasso looks like another level by Sidewinder from its structure and texturing, so I dare crediting him with having built this level. It is on his usual high level, with round structures inside, nice dungeon-style texturing, appropriate lighting, and good connectivity. Btw, I took the freedom to correct the name.
![]() Vader's LairSidewinder built Vaders Lair 1 and 2, and they do indeed look like sections from Starwar's imperial battleships with their mostly white and black interior. Sidewinder created a techy and clean looking starship theme with these two levels he built for the Clan Sharks, and I bet they're very good multiplayer levels, too.
Vader's Lair 1is the first level from the Vader series. There's no tech equipment in it, but just clear black and white interiors.
Vaders Lair 13D view Vader's Lair 2is the second level from the Vader series. This level looks like the engine area of an Imperial dreadnaught. You'll find an energy core and other sections with some kind of high-tech machinery. They're never in the way of multiplayer games though.
