Multiplayer Levels |

The levels listed here are a collection of high quality (having been accepted into Zappafan's level spotlight is quite a commendation) level I had built back in the days when Descent 2 was new, and levels I have built to display and utilize what D2X-XL has to offer.

SubspaceSubspace actually is a part of a bigger level from my single player mission Boiling Point. I had always wanted to create a huge, naturally looking cave for Descent 2, and Subspace for me is a great execution of that theme and I really like how it has turned out. Subspace isn't exactly the smallest level, but I think it might still be a great multiplayer level due to the wide central open space and the many places one can hide from enemy fire or ambush an opponent.
Glass HouseMedium sized anarchy level featuring advanced properties of D2X-XL, like teleports, speed boost areas, cameras and colored windows. The name says a lot about this level: Many rooms are separated by transparent walls, so you will always see where the action is. It is another story to get there though: Lots of interconnections are by teleports with multiple destinations, and you will never know where they will get you: Into safety, or in the middle of a firefight ...
TombZ Of DeZtruKtionLarge anarchy level with a lot of pillars built for fire and duck style hunting. Lots of interconnections. This level will hone your prediction skills, and despite of its size is a blast to play, as it offers various distinct regions, where the fighting will eventually wander to. Get it!

TombZ of D3ZtruKtion3D view miKro TombZBasically, this is TombZ pruned to dimensions suitable for 2 to 5 players. It's a pretty small one story level so it plays fast.
Fire And SteelMedium sized anarchy level with a nice blend of differently designed rooms, some symmetrical, some asymmetrical. Pretty cool architecture. Lots of interconnections. Well suited for hide and seek style gaming as well as into your face dog fighting.
With Flying ColorsLarger, symmetrical level built especially for CTF+ games. Rather architectural, so a *tad* heavy on the cube count side (heh).
PyrotechnicaComplex architecture with great connectivity provide plenty of playing fun. Multi-level layout with tunnels connecting numerous halls. 'The Hub' (image #3) as a central junction of the level makes sure you will never have to fly far to find a victim - or doom. Unreal textures give this level a medieval look. A Descent 3 textured 16 player version of this level has been added recently. Bots included (you better be fast, or you will die a quick and brutal death!
).StyxStyx has been revisited several times. The original structure of the level has been kept, though retextured and beefed up a little, and forms the core of the new level. Around that I have added a lot of tunnels including some airducts and railway tracks blocked on both sides to provide a lot more connections and atmosphere. The expansions have been inspired by Kruel's missions, and the Descent 2 textured level contains a few of his (public domain) custom textures. The latest instance of Styx features Descent 3 textures, a lot of D2X-XL features like smoke, lightning, timed trigger effects, and allows 15 players in multiplayer games. Enjoy.
![]() TankboyA very rectangular level, but I still wouldn't call it 'boxy'. A hall in the center is surrounded by wide tunnels with lots of side branches and interconnections. The level has been enhanced and retextured in 2010, using Descent 3 textures and D2X-XL features like smoke, ambient sound effects and repair centers, and supports up to 12 players.
