Initial Comment:
It seems d2x-xl is buggier than ever. I load up an old save file (Vignettes mission pack specifically) and there is now sound (but I do get music) So to fix this problem, I restart a fresh game on the set from level 1, I get my sound. I then, from there, reload the saved game. This usually brings me back sound in my current game. Unfortunately, the latest beta likes to crash every time I do this prior to loading the saved game. Furthermore, if I reload the same saved game more than once, it crashes. So I honestly can't continue playing anything right now with d2x-xl.

"Buggier than ever"?

Yeah, d2x-xl is such a buggy, crappy, obnoxious POS getting worse and worse and worse with every release.

I wonder why people keep using that infuriating, miserable piece of a wannabe program. Crazy

Good start for a bug report. Thumbs Up Clap ... clap ... clap.

lol

I have had the missing-sound-on-load-game issue myself, actually. I probably should have reported it but thought XL was in the middle of a bug-fix phase and it would be found pretty soon anyway.

I wonder why ppl tends to report a somewhat big D2X-XL problem (at least on his/her side) with that much frustration.
It's a bug, right? well, you just need to report it to the bug tracker with easiness and calmed down, is just as simple as writing a detailed ticket and period, doesn't matters how big and ugly the bug is, sooner or later will be fixed.

I don't see the need to report it in such a negative way. Confused
If by the moment that version doesn't works for the user, he/she should stick with the latest one stable for him/her and wait for a fixed version from Diedel.
Very simple indeed.

BTW, on a side note, i don't see any sound problem here on my main partition (WinXP, haven't tested with Win7).
It may be related to Win7 Users? Anyhow, D2X-XL doesn't offers full support for Win7 yet.

The problem is when ppl cannot be bothered to report it early but bear it instead until they are so frustrated with it that they burst.

The only bug I noticed in the version I've been using is that vulcan ammo never runs out. Been fixed ages ago but I can live with it. Mr. Green
